I know it's kind of late, but I decided to start a blog exactly four years after I arrived in Manila, Philippines. That was on December 4, 2002. I've been studying and working ever since, hoping to finish with my Undergrad degrees (Secondary Education Major English and AB Literature) in August 2007.
I grew up in Bremen-Huchting, Germany, and stayed there till August 2000. I then became an au pair in Denver, CO, where I stayed with a great host family for two years. In order to be able to drive in the USA, I had to attend a driver's license class, where I met my very good friend from the Philippines, Aldwin. Well, I went to Manila twice, enjoyed being there and decided it would be quite unfortunate to let go of the opportunity to study in the Philippines. To make the loooooong story a little bit shorter, I went back to Germany in August 2002 to earn a few bucks and arrived in Manila in December 2002.
For the past two years, I have lived in Eastwood City, which belongs to Quezon City located north-east of Makati in Luzon in the Philippines, one of the three main islands.
I work in the evening in a call center and try to train managers from Europe in English and German. I wor as a part timer, otherwise it would be a bit difficult to support my education and life. In the morning I go to De La Salle University which is about fifty minutes away if you take the cab, MRT and LRT (both are trains). About the joys of commuting in Manila you will definitely read more in my blogs.
I do hope you enjoy reading my entries! I welcome any comments from individuals spread all over the world, looking forward to exchange ideas with you!
Take Care, or, as Filipinos would say: Ingat!
